Here is my preliminary submission for the new Blog Roundtable Blogpoll, now taken over by SB Nation. As in previous years, suggest changes and I may or may not make them.

PRESEASON RANKINGS RELEASED

Posted by Chili

Your preseason USA Today Coaches Poll has been unfurled and here it is, turgid and proud. The ACC has five teams on the list, the highest ranked being Virginia Tech. Clemson didn’t make the list, and I really have no complaints about that at this time, though they did get the imaginary 31st spot by the votes. The top of the list is just the usual suspects

1 Alabama (55)
2 Ohio State (4)
3 Florida
4 Texas
5 Boise State
6 Virginia Tech
7 TCU
8 Oklahoma
9 Nebraska
10 Iowa
11 Oregon
12 Wisconsin
13 Miami (FL)
14 Penn State

16 LSU
17 Georgia Tech
18 North Carolina
19 Arkansas
20 Florida State
21 Georgia
22 Oregon State
23 Auburn
24 Utah
24 West Virginia

NEWS BLURBLE

TAJH TUESDAYH!

Two articles from Phil Kornblut on the Tajh Boyd recruiting situation, the first detailing Billy Napier and Danny Pearman’s in home visit with Boyd, where we learn that his father prefers Clemson:

I prefer Clemson…   …I think at the end of the day he’ll end up picking Clemson. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t. If he doesn’t it’s because he liked the other programs for his own personal reasons. Coach Swinney coming and saying Tajh is his guy and he wants to come in with a top caliber quarterback is important. Feeling comfortable in that situation and they’ve been on him hard and making him feel like he’s needed there. You want to feel like you’re needed and not just wanted.

Another brief update from Kornblut on the recruiting efforts.

The Greenville News has a similar outlook on the recruitment of Boyd.

Poll skewin, either the Tigernetters have hammered this poll or the general consensus really is Boyd to the Tigers.

BASKETBALL

Clemson is 12th in the AP poll, 11th in the coaches.

The Greenville News on Terrence Oglesby’s efforts to get his groove back behind the arc. Like the old saying goes, a shooter’s gotta shoot, cold streak or not.

KYLE PARKER CAN’T LOSE

Another G-News article details Coach Swinney and Coach Leggett’s cooperation to juggle Kyle Parker’s busy spring schedule, sharing time between football, baseball, and classes.
