Hey guys,
I was cleaning some stuff up in the vbulletin program and I came across a fact that stunned me: We’ve got a lot of folks on here who just simply don’t post on the forums. They lurk and sometimes reply but rarely start their own topics. I’m not challenging or trying to call anyone out, it’s just I’m worried that the same people tend to start topics.
The forums have been pretty slow lately and I don’t know if thats due to the off season or what. I don’t want anyone to feel like now that I’ve said something that they need to start topics. I also don’t want anyone to feel like if they start a topic they’re going to get the beat down of their lives.
We eventually created the Block-C forums as it was our original idea that just found its way to the internet the form of the old Danny Ford Is God blogspot site. We wanted to give like-minded Clemson fans/alumni/students a message board that wasn’t like any of the others. A place where there wasn’t a hill watch or daily sermon or a pile of shit to dig through to find something the least bit useful or entertaining.
I think the problem might be in part due to us because we’ve been so controversial in years past with other people and bloggers. That’s ok. It’s just the internet: an outlet to let of some steam and frustration when a certain quivering lip, meddling coach, or sunkist/pompous/brickheaded hybrid of Cullen Harper and Kyle Parker is ruining your fall. Hell, we’re one of the few if only Clemson sites that not only allow you guys to call us on our shit without banning or total war. We welcome that. We realize that we do this to entertain you and if it ain’t working it needs fixing.
I guess what I’m trying to say is if you’ve never really posted or started topics all that much then give it some thought in the near future. We’ve got some great forums/sub-forums dying to have a few more staple posters. You find a funny video/article/whatever on the web? Share it man! Taste a beer or cigar, etc and want the world to know? Let’s hear it! Find an “Hot girls in Yoga Pants” site? Share a few pics. Let’s mix it up! I promise I’ll do myself to tweak the forums as much as possible to make them better for you guys as much as I can while still keeping the old school feel/look to it.

Folks,
My absence from the website has been apparent the last few months. My life has kind of changed in a few different ways and the blogging and writing part just kind of got pushed to the back after my attempt at grad school failed. It’s a wonder how work, weights, jui jitsu, and err… pro wrestling can fill up someone’s schedule. Oh yeah, and drinking fits in there sometime too.
As a result of my new found busy schedule, I’ve decided to step back for the most part from the actual writing and blogging portion of Block-C.
Don’t count me out though. I’m going to be putting more effort into the behind the scenes stuff on the blog side. In addition and more importantly, I’m taking over the bulk of the workload for the forums and will be putting as much as I can into that aspect of Block-C in order to help it grow.
Here’s my four point stolen plan for great success:
1. Put more effort into forums.
2. Drink more.
3. ????
4. PROFIT
