No real surprise, but Clemson will be hosting an NCAA Regional this weekend. The other teams coming to town this weekend include 2 Seed Connecticut, 3 Seed Coastal Carolina, and 4 Seed Sacred Heart. None of these teams should truly scare Clemson and there is some other good news as well – if both Clemson and Sakerlina go on to the Super Regional, then they would play each other for a bid to the College World Series. Why is that good news? Well, because we all know Clemson can’t seem to be the Gamecocks in the College World Series, but that fluke of nature doesn’t apply to Super Regionals. Anyways, game times have not been announced, but if you want to see the entire bracket, click here.

Sorry folks, but I’ve found myself a student of the Black Dynamite Panther Fist martials arts this past year. I’ve been training as Chili has been once again kidnapped by the red scare. I may or may not have been in Pakistan earlier this month as well. One day, our story will make an excellent novel/movie/ScyFy channel show.

The Clemson baseball regular season ended this past weekend and the post-season gets underway on Wednesday, starting with the ACC Tournament in Durham, NC. Here is Block-C’s wrap-up of the regular season:
Final Team Record
39-17 (17-13)
-The Tigers finished the season on a 25-5 run which included series wins against Top 15 Opponents Georgia Tech and Florida State.
Final Rankings
- Baseball America – 14th
- Collegiate Baseball Newspaper – 18th
- NCBWA – 10th
- USA Today – 14th
- NCAA Baseball RPI – 9th
-As a team, Clemson had a .320 Batting Average, which was tied for 4th Nationally and 1st in the ACC. The team ERA was 3.12, which ranked 23rd Nationally and 3rd in the ACC.
-Shortstop Brad Miller was the ACC Player of the Year, Clemson’s first winner since Khalil Greene. Miller had a .431 Batting Average (T-6th Nationally, 1st in the ACC), a .536 On Base Percentage (3rd Nationally, 1st in the ACC and the guy in 2nd finished 70 points behind him), 46 Runs, 4 HR’s, 44 RBI’s, and 21 Stolen Bases.
-Along with Brad Miller, 1st Baseman Ricky Shaffer earned 1st Team All-ACC honors. Outfielders Jeff Schaus and Will Lamb, and DH Phil Pohl earned 2nd Team All-ACC honors.
ACC Tournament
-Clemson is the 6th Seed and will play in Pool B. On Wednesday they play Georgia Tech (11am), Thursday against Florida State (3pm), and Saturday against NC State (11am). With a good showing, Clemson should earn an NCAA Regional, which always bodes well in post-season play.
“Your ACC Player of the Year”

If you could have bet that two Clemson players would have been drafted before Da’Quan Bowers, what do you think the odds would have been? 100-1? 1000-1? Infinity to 1? Either way you would have made a small fortune if such a bet existed. Anyways, here is where your Clemson Tiger football players were drafted in this year’s NFL Draft:
Round 2
Pick 9 (41st overall) to Washington – Jarvis Jenkins
Pick 18 (50th overall) to San Diego – Marcus Gilchrist
Pick 19 (51st overall) to Tampa Bay – Da’Quan Bowers
Round 4
Pick 25 (122nd overall) to Buffalo – Chris Hairston
Pick 33 (130th overall) to Tennessee – Jamie Harper
Round 6
Pick 8 (173rd overall) to Seattle – Byron Maxwell
Random Tidbits:
-I was somewhat shocked to see that DeAndre McDaniel was not drafted. Going into the off-season, it looked like he was going to be a 2nd Round pick, so what exactly happened that he fell all the way out of the draft? I don’t have that answer.
-Tampa Bay got a steal when they got Da’Quan 50 picks later than he was projected before people started freaking out about his knee. Even if his knee is injured, you have to think that he is young enough that it will heal and he will be back to his devastating self.
-Another Tiger drafted by Buffalo. Even if you are happy to be drafted, you can’t be happy that you are headed to freaking Buffalo.
-Only two Gamecocks were drafted, that could be looked at as good and bad. Good in that it shows that they are not an especially talented team. And bad b/c it means that all of their talent is still in school. Either way, I’m not scared of Conner Shaw whatsoever.
