CJ ON ESPN

Posted by Willy Mac

For those of you without a job or are lucky enough to be able to watch ESPN at work: Check out CJ Spiller on NFL live starting at 4pm this afternoon. Should be on there around 4:20 LOLOLOLOLOLOL (No but really that’s what they said on Sportscenter)

Also, check out this exchange CJ had with Jon (John?) Gruden that filmed for a segment.

VIDEO DISABLED BECAUSE  ESPN ON THE INTERNET SUCKS A DONKEY DICK. THANKS BIG RED. ALSO, BIG UPS FOR THE AUTOPLAY! Fuckin’ idiots…

Pointer Sisters? Really coach? Was that a Sherman Klump reference? Ok, I admit that it get’s me excited too. Eww, no, not that way. Also, Gruden is really annoying sometimes.

Hello there. I’ve been away for quite sometime. Sorry about that. I’ve been in my yearly post football, self-induced blogging hibernation. What brought me out of it? The promise of watching the Clemson Orange & White game live on CSS the Saturday before last. Oh sweet nectar to hold me off until the fall. I had just about my entire day planned around this one broadcast… And of course CSS(EC) totally screwed over Clemson fans. Anyways. I’ve put together a minor list of bullet points I took from the game after watching a DVR of the replay this past weekend.

  • The wide receivers are just as bad as they were at the beginning of last year. How can you learn so much, then forget it? The best reception we had came from Kyle Parker. Our guys are still missing blocks on the outside.
  • Dwayne Allen is awesome. He will definitely replace Michael Palmer and then some. The only thing I didn’t like was that Boyd relied to heavily on him but I think that can be chalked up to an inexperienced freshman.
  • The linebackers had a decent showing but they definitely need to step it up off the field to prepare for next season or else we’re going to be in more trouble. Barring that, the rest of the defense as a whole looks like they are nearly ready for the first game.
  • Jamie Harper continues to be mediocre. It’s the same old game plan with him and at this point I’m giving up on him because if he hasn’t changed by now, he’s probably not going to change. He hits the pile, turns around and backs into it. Same old story.
  • Ellington needs to work extra hard if he’s going to fill the giant shoes left by CJ. I think he will do a good job this year though. He still needs to get a little bigger to be truly balanced and effective.
  • I feel that the offensive line did okay but they absolutely have potential to be a really good unit.
  • Richard Jackson is finally showing some ability, albeit it was in the form of punting. He still missed on a single filed goal attempt, which is not surprising with our recent history.
  • Dear Billy Napier: STOP TRYING TO THROW SCREENS. WE NO LONGER HAVE THE ATHLETES TO MAKE IT A SUCCESSFUL PLAY. NOR DO WE HAVE THE RECEIVERS TO BLOCK FOR IT. THANKS SO MUCH.

What did you take from the game I didn’t cover? Your thoughts?

DSOT: BROWNELL EDITION

HEY WE GOTTA NEW COACH, BETTER SLAP A SLOGAN ON ‘EM! Wonder how many people have joined the Facebook group?

FSU INTERNET FAILURE

Posted by Willy Mac

So lately, to get back in the swing of things I’ve been viciously trolling other ACC boards.  Ok, no I’ve just been trolling FSU outlets and I think I’ve found a gem. I’m not sure, here, you take a look at it:

Oh ok. See, that’s pretty decent. Ponder’s a pretty damned good quarterback, but Heisman hype? Are you serious? Especially after shoulder surgery? There’s one glaring error and I think it’s pretty obvious…

And yes, I did just go super homer on you, troll an FSU message board, just so I could put this clip back up on our main page. But hey, let’s face it:

THIS SHIT NEVER GETS OLD.

NEW ACC COACHES: A COMPARISON

Posted by Chili

Boston College: Steve Donohue, age 47 – career record 146-138 – three 20-win seasons at Cornell – three regular season conference championships – NCAA Tournament record 2-3

Clemson: Brad Brownell, age 42 – career record 167-85 – six 20-win seasons at UNC-W and Wright State – three regular season championships – 0-3 NCAA Record

Wake Forest: Jeff Bzdelik, age 57 – career record 107-104 – two 20-win seasons at Air Force – no regular season or tournament championships – 0-1 NCAA record

So, put in perspective, I think the Clemson hire of whatshisface is pretty good. Certainly better than Wake’s hire.

***UPDATE*** The Dagger over at Yahoo! (that’s a fucking dumb string of words) applauds Clemson’s sensible choice.

BRAD BROWNELL IS YOUR NEW BASKETBALL COACH

Posted by Chili

It is being confirmed that Clemson is going to announce Wright State’s Brad Brownell as the new men’s basketball coach at Clemson. More to come…

Brownell pats his imaginary friend on the head.
