Happy Stalk the Fuck Out of Teen Boys Day. The best place to follow the minute-by-minute updates is probably one of the pay sites like Rivals or Scout, but Tigernet has a pretty decent update page of when kids sign on the line that is dotted.
We’ll be back with a wrapup this evening. STAY TUNED.

Only one we got to really sweat is Parker.
Fuck Allen and Otis “My Man” (his pimp)

Honestly, I’m more concerned about our QB situation if Parker turns pro in baseball than I am about signing day. If he goes and our O line and running game suck, Tajh Boyd and the defense better be REAL GOOD or 2010 is going to be a LONG year.

@2 i dont see our running game sucking, we have 2 guys with game experience that are pretty good, rod mcdowell who redshirted last year, and then 2 more guys that we’ve picked up today. The o-line should be OK, not good, not great, but not horrible either

@1 haha nice Animal House reference.
Looks like we signed all the recruits we were supposed to which is good.
I guess this Parker kid is the only wild card left. We probably need another LB recruit after Nico’s stroke, but whatever.
@2 we only lose Austin off the O-line, and for whatever reason Austin didn’t play his best year last year. Maybe he is naturally a better center than guard. So in theory our O-line should be better.
I’m not considering Parker leaving until he does. No matter who our QB is, Michael Wade included, our receivers are still the weak link in the passing game.

@2 Parker isn’t going pro with out a vast improvement. He is a short guy, can’t play defense, and a flyball hitter with a shitty average (alot of his HRs would be outs with out the aluminum bats). Needs to learn to be a catcher for a shot IMO.

I’m hearing Justin Parker announced he would sign a day or 2 ago and it’s just a waiting game until he actually signs at 3

Parker did sign with the Tigers. That puts the class at 23. I wonder what sort of cheeseball name Dabo will cook up for them after last year’s “Dandy Dozen”?
23 skidoo?

Looks like a great class for the Tigers. Should be fun to watch the talking heads on ESPN yack about it.
@9 -”23 skidoo.” That sounds like a Dabo-ism. I bet he will go with that.
Happy B-Day Willy Mac!

all in all, a good day.
given the uncertainty w/ steele, i think we did better than average to keep our guys and sign a few at the wire.
weights and steaks – we’ll see ‘em in August…

Tough shit that we didn’t get Keenan Allen. Justin Parker is huge, though. He is a beast and LB was our glaring concern for next year. To be able to pick up a guy who has play right away potential is huge. Jake Nicopolous signing and Clemson honoring his commit to then and their commit to him is a great story as well.
Also, tits.

I hope Martavis Bryant and DeAndre Hopkins, if he stays at WR, can get on the field early and make plays. They also need to push the older guys we have because we have to get some WR’s making plays now that Jacoby is gone. Also, I know it’s only a high school highlight tape, but David Beasley has some nasty in his game. We can use that up front in the coming years.

@16
Bryce Mcneal too. We haven’t seen him yet, but he is supposed to be on the same level as MB and DH.
Browsing our past recruiting on rivals we have so many 4 star receivers in there that it’s amazing this is our weakest position. WR’s are probably just overrated in rankings, but I’m sure our coaching has something to do with this problem.

Finally, we have a 6’5″ WR with some meat on him again. Let’s hope he can block.

I don’t expect to see Martavis Bryant or DeAndre Hopkins starting, but they will crack the two deep and they will play. Bryant is fast but he needs to bulk up. I actually can see Hopkins being the next Derrick Hamilton. Our WR’s should improve next year…Marquan Jones is fucking garbage though. I’ve heard he’s in the doghouse big time with the coaching staff.

I’m surprised they are going to play Hopkins at receiver. He’s one of the better ball-hawking, cover guys I’ve seen in a while at the high school level.

I guess we’re pretty deep at cornerback already and we desperately need some fresh talent injected into our WRs…I’ve never seen so many highly touted busts in all my life. Dye, Brown, Jones…all of em…gahbage.
