Let's look on the bright side everyone.....We could be going to the Papa Johns Bowl (Sakerlina), where I hear most of the payout involves a free extra topping on your next purchase of two large pizzas and a 2 liter of Pepsi.

@30, The Gator Bowl cares a lot about money. It's already sold out. The FSU thing was all about the more compelling matchup of Bobby's last game being against his old team and it's clearly done its job of selling tickets.

I have a better idea for sending off Bobby Bowden. Why not send him off with a Viking funeral? You know the ones I mean, strap him down to a wooden raft, pour something flammable all over him and the raft, push him out in the sea. Chief Assiolla will then shoot fire arrows at the raft to set him off in style. Or, to add some excitement, Joe Pa could shoot at it with a flare gun. In true Viking tradition, Anne Bowden will also be on the raft.

Last time we played Kentucky in the Music City Bowl, I made the unfortunate mistake of attending, only to be treated to an 8 year old boy drilling field goal after field goal for the half time show of a game that the former finalist for Kicker of the Year couldn't make a single kick all game. Also, as I was leaving the game, sitting in my car waiting on a traffic light to change, a drunk Kentucky fan ran across several lanes of traffic so that he could lick my windshield. Apparently this is how they celebrate big wins in that part of the country. I have a bad feeling about this game. It seems like such a recipe for a let down game, I mean, if playing Kentucky in the Music City Bowl has the fans this bummed, you know the players are feeling the same way, and you know this is gonna be Kentucky's Super Bowl.

I know complaining about officiating is the typical sore loser tactic, but two absolutely horrendous no-calls are still burning me up:

1. The GT bomb pass TD should've been called back for a blatant hold where there guard wraps up and form tackles our DT right in the middle of the play right in front of Nesbitt.

2. What should have been our own TD bomb pass to Jacoby Ford was dropped in the end zone even though it hit right in the numbers because the GT corner grabbed Ford's facemask and jerked his head to the side forcing Ford to take his eyes off the ball right before it got to him. If grabbing a players facemask and jerking it so he can't look in a ball isn't pass interference, I don't know what is.

Also, having an HD DVR is effectively ruining sports for me, as the ability to rewind and slo-mo plays is convincing me that all officiating is so crooked / incompetent that we shouldn't even bother trying to play games.

@23, 24 Was so glad we pulled out that win, it got a bit dicey for a while there when we kept turning the ball over constantly. If we had lost to them in both football and basketball, this year would have been unbearable. The only thing worse than listening to "hurf a durk SEC football" all year is that rare occasion when SEC fans decide they are good at basketball too. Unfortunately, I have a feeling this might turn into one of those years.
