Line: Clemson -20

Edge goes to:

Clemson offense vs. Virginia defense: Clemson, though Virginia’s defense is its strong point.

Clemson defense vs. Virginia offense: Clemson by a mile.

Special teams: Clemson.

Intangibles: The seniors’ last home game at Clemson, ACC Championship game on the line (If BC wins), it’s safe to say Clemson has way more to play for.

Our Panel of Knifedog Whisperers  Says:

Chili: Clemson has one of the more sack-happy defenses in the nation. Virginia has a horrendous sacks-allowed tally. These facts are a good indicator of the hurting the Clemson defense is going to lay on the moribund Wahoo offense. Virginia’s run defense is fairly respectable, but they are still weak in most other areas. Clemson should have little trouble advancing the ball. Beyond my regular half-assed analysis, this is the final home game for Clemson seniors. It’s the last time you’re going to watch CJ Spiller, Jacoby Ford, Thomas Austin, Michael Palmer, and others in Death Valley (DeAndre McDaniel is likely bolting for the NFL as well, so watch the interceptor at work). Savor the moment, I know they will. This one shouldn’t be close, and I expect we’ll see scrub-time in the late third quarter and fourth, which skews my score prediction a bit.

Clemson 35, Virginia 9

Willy Mac: Right now you don’t need my opinion. We’re at the top of most stats defensively in the ACC. They’re at the bottom. Case closed. I’ll disagree with Chili about McDaniel however as he’s already stated that he’s 99% sure he’s coming back, but who knows. I’d bolt. Hopefully WILLY KORN gets to build on his resume for the probable courting of FCS teams that are going to need a quarterback. Kicking and PAT troubles continue.

Clemson 42, Virginia 7

I was confused about this statement in the “Intangibles”: “ACC Championship game on the line (If BC wins)”. I realize what it means is that we have this locked UNLESS we lose and BC wins, but the way it’s written made me think that we couldn’t get to the Championship game UNLESS BC also won. I had to go dig out the standings to reassure myself!

    Nate… you know… I don’t think you’re that great… so… poo on you.

Nate, if you are a Clemson fan, then you shouldn’t have had to go back and check the standings. You should have already known that if we win, we get in, regardless of BC’s outcome. You shouldn’t have had to question yourself after reading something that may have been mildly confusing.

The time you spent digging out the standings would have been better spent at en.gravatar.com

So is the 42-7 prediction a guess that we’ll score 7 touchdowns, and miss all 7 extra points? I’d believe it.

    @1, what he meant was:
BC plays UNC at Noon tomorrow. So if BC loses that game, we’ll have already cliched the division before our game starts at 3:30. However, “if BC wins”, we’ll still have the “ACC championship game on the line”.

No, six TDs, prolly convert on XPs, and miss a few FGs. or miss three XPs and make a field goal. Whatever. I haven’t been to staggeringly close this year.

Good guys score 7 TD’s, miss 5 XP’s, 2 successful PAT’s by Korn and a 60 yd FG by McDaniel.
VA scores w/ one second left vs CU’s 8th string to win the Tom O’Brien “ACC Douche of the Year Award”.

This game scares me. It shouldn’t…..which is why it does. Having said that…. CU 52- UVA 16. Korn w/ a rushing @ a passing TD……
