Southern Cal. is way overrated and should be out of the polls…Just my opinion

  2. 2AndrewTheTerribleNo Gravatar on Nov 16, 2009 at 7:30 am:

SoCal only has one quality win. A few embarassing blowout losses should have them completely out. Not even the standard “historic football program means they should be ranked” treatment that Notre Dame normally gets can keep them worthy of being ranked.

    Take SoCal out.

OK SoCal will be out. Anything else?

  4. 4BraapNo Gravatar on Nov 16, 2009 at 9:48 am:

Forgot Viginia Tech :-/ Somewhere around 13th-ish sounds right. Their 3 losses were all to teams currently in the top 25…2 of which are in the top 7.

    Other stuff:
    - Miami up a spot
    - I would move Wisconsin behind OkState, Stanford, and Iowa (beating Michigan isn’t that impressive these days)
    - I don’t think SoCal has to be out…maybe just 24th or 25th
    - Keep Clemson at 18th if adding VaTech would move us down

I’m trying to decide if it’s ACC homerism or not…I don’t think it is…I get the feeling that Georgia Tech could easily handle both Cincy and Boise. I’d have Georgia Tech ranked above both of them. But that’s only if you’re going by who would win heads up, being undefeated kinda has the connotation of having earned a higher rank until otherwise proven wrong.

LSU almost lost at home to La Tech…keeping them in the top 10 might be a bit too high. Having Va. Tech in the top 15 seems a bit high, so I don’t really agree with that (@4). Also, Utah got trounced. I’d say they fall into the 23-24 range.

Stanford lost to Wake, we blew out Wake, we should be higher then Stanford

5 spot jump for Penn St for beating IU?

LSU needs to be dropped down a bit after that embarrassing game vs LA Tech

    Pitt not high enough

  8. 8ChiliNo Gravatar on Nov 16, 2009 at 10:26 am:

@7 I DO NOT CARE FOR YOUR TRANSITIVE LOGIC SIR

  9. 9WillyDNo Gravatar on Nov 16, 2009 at 10:50 am:

@7 Clemson also stomped NC State who beat Pitt, who you think isn’t ranked high enough, so apparently Clemson belongs in the top ten.

I would probably put Florida below Texas and Bama after that performance against the Shamecocks. I would also keep Iowa above Penn State because of the head to head win. Va. Tech should be in the poll, a blowout win shouldn’t drop them from the rankings, and I’d take them over Cal.

@6 I think LSU is a top 10 team, but not with Jarrett Lee at the helm. Which is currently the case, so I could see them swapping places with Pitt. Did you see the LSU-Bama game when Lee first came in? CBS had this clip of all of Jarrett Lee’s pick 6′s last year ready to go. They showed it just minutes after he came in the game. It was kind of a bitch move on CBS’s part, but was also extremely awesome and fun to watch.

Also, I agree with you that 13th may be slightly too high for Virginia Tech. But you’d figure it would have to at least be a little higher than where we are. We both have 2 losses to top 7 teams, but their third loss wasn’t to Maryland. They took care of business against them last Saturday. Maybe 15th or 16th would be more appropriate.

DeAndre Mcdaniel’s facebook status for today, and I quote:

“Is sooooo ready for UVA!! Last home game of the year!! Lets sell it out and get this town shaking!! awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww BOOM!!!”

God he terrifies me, and I cheer for him

Looks good, but I agree with Braap; I’d flip LSU with Pitt. I’ve watched all of Pitt’s games this season (I do live in PA, after all), and they are an excellent team. Looking forward to what happens with the last two games on their schedule.

@9 I know I’ll get accused of “Tardnet homerism” here, but I believe Clemson is(currently) one of the top ten (@ the very least top 15) teams in the country.
**Ducks** Shoulda …coulda beat both GT & TCU and have been pretty impressive since that damn. Maryland. game!
