Some thoughts: Happy for the win, but I’m under no illusions. This team still has fundamental problems, both in excecution and philosophy. The fact that we can’t run the ball WILL come back to haunt us. I thought Napier called a pretty decent game, but couldn’t figure out the designed qb runs. Parker will not dazzle anybody running the ball and the play never netted anything, and it was called at crucial points. Also concerned the d got burned for a lot of yards and some big plays. I know Miami is a good team, but I don’t think they’re a great team. And really now, are we THAT surprised that we won this one? We’ve always matched up well against the Miamis and the FSUs…it’s the Wakes and Marylands of the world that seem to confound us. Can’t figure that one out. All in all though, a great win that will hopefully carry into the rest of the year. No reason this team can’t win out…but can’t help but have my doubts that that’ll actually happen. And what the fuck was the deal with the Miami crowd? Didn’t hear the official numbers, but that stadium looked about half full. I bet draw a bigger crowd against Coastal. THey don’t really CARE about football down there…only reason they’ve ever been a big deal is the good weather and Fla.’s such a hotbed of talent. Lastly, C.J.Spiller’s the most talented man to ever wear orange, PERIOD!!!!! The greatest Clemson football player in our history, and a kid with integrity to boot. I’d let him have his way with my wife if he wanted!

In a more serious note, is there any word on Michael Palmer? A head to head hit, which was obviously intentional and malicious; watching him lay there I was like shit, this game is over.

@ 7,
Supposedly a low to mid-grade concussion (whatever that means). Likely out for Coastal but back by FSU is the word out so far though that obviously can change depending on how long symptoms last.
Also I wouldn’t say it was a malicious hit, Palmer was spinning in the air when the defender hit him. It’s kinda hard to know where you are going to hit someone when you are in the air and the person you are trying to tackling is also in the air doing a death spiral. I thought the defender was trying to jar the football loose. Dabo pretty much said the same thing when asked why it wasn’t flagged.

@8 His facemask was pointing to the ground… It was top of helmet to earhole. Every time this happens, a concusion will follow. That is why helmet to helmet is a 15 yarder, not to mention the possibility of a neck injury by the hitter. It should have been a penalty, but oh well.
