Clemson offense vs. Wake Forest defense: Push

Clemson defense vs. Wake Forest offense: Push

Special teams: Clemson

Intangibles: Clemson, coming off a bye week and with their back against the wall, the Tigers have a lot to prove.

Our Panel of Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tube Men Say:

Willy Mac: Given the madness and fall out that’s been playing out over the past two weeks, I’d say that the Tigers have gotten their head’s screwed on by now. When Wake Forest’s offense is on the field I expect it to be a great slug fest. When Clemson’s offense takes over I expect it to be a completely horrific football game to watch due to the performance of both teams. Everyone is in meltdown mode but we’ve kept the final scores pretty close in our losses. Look for Richard Jackson to add to his league leading point total for kickers. Clemson in a close struggle.

Clemson 27, Wake Forest 24

Chili: Clemson has a bye week to regroup, and I honestly feel that they will institute some changes that will benefit the offense. From what has been printed in the media, Billy Napier downloaded the playbook update to NCAA ’10 and should be able to iron out some wrinkles and get the ball to our tight ends, opening up a midfield threat. That is if anybody but Ford or Spiller can catch the ball. Xavier Dye is also due, but we’ll see on that end. The defense is rightfully angry about their performance at Maryland. There’s a lot of talent on that side of the ball and if they play with some fire in their bellies (fooootbaw metaphorrrrr) they should be able to shut down Grobe’s Deacs.

Clemson 20, Wake Forest 13

I think we going to lose. Our offense can’t score. We totally suck. If we turn it all around, great. But that’s not the feeling I’m getting from reading the interwebs. The sunshine pumpers only have us winning by 3.

special teams shine, defense fights for a long time, offense fails, defense gets tired, the tigers lose 24-13.

I’m going to remain optimistic about our chances at home against the Deacs and say Clemson wins 24-14. Defense will force Wake into being one-dimensional by taking away the running game and Spiller will have some big plays against a porous defense that will net us some points. If this were a road game I’d feel a little less confident but I think we come out with a good effort today. We better win today because we have little to no shot next week, most likely.

This was the first game my new son got to watch. I hope this kind of playing is all he sees. He also said his first words/sentence . . . “Willy Korn is cursed.”

I’ve spent all afternoon trying to think of the last time Clemson physically beat the fuck out of a quality opponent like that. I’m not talking score, I’m talking ass kick. That shit was prison rape with no reach around. Riley Skinner ain’t getting laid tonight unless the bitch gets on top.
