Forget Korn. He was a system QB in high school that put up freak numbers because he was surrounded by crazy athletes. Every Byrnes quarterback puts up gawkish stats. Parker’s a better athlete and QB and will probably keep Korn on the bench where he will forever be haunted by feelings of self-loathing.
Just wanted to inject an uber negative spin on the situation.
Parker may start against MTSU but Korn will get lots of opportunities to make plays. I hope for his sake that his shoulder is fully healed and he can live up to the promise he displayed in high school. If this is true it will be interesting to see how Korn responds because I’m sure he (nor anyone else) thought he would come here to be a backup.
Paul Johnson would love to have Korn right now especially with Shaw going down. Korn is an impressive runner and very accurate on short to intermediate passes – run the option and dink and dunk. He always had average arm strength but the last two injuries seem to have taken a toll. His down field throws over 25 yards seem to float.
Still think Korn’s running skills are far superior to Parker’s. Korn might be better suited in some pass/run packages as he is 225 lbs now. Though we don’t need another Will Proctor out there shot putting the ball into interceptions.
This just in, Tribble Reese has been declared the starter at QB for Clemson this upcoming year. When asked how this would occur, since Tribble spent three years eligibilty already with the Tigers, and spent the last year playing for a D-1AA school, QB Reese said “I is the greatest”
But in all seriousness @ 4 makes the BEST POINT EVER. Name 1 Byrnes player that has done anything on the college level. Xavier Dye, Stanley Hunter, Chad Diehl, Prince Miller, Justin Bright, etc. They put up crazy stats because they’re in the Byrnes system and once they get to college they don’t do anything. Same will go with Marcus Lattimore.
The hyperbole regarding Korn’s perceived lack of talent is staggering. The kid knows football, and when he isn’t hurt, he has amazing touch on ALL of his throws, including his deep throws. It’s amazing what a little time will do to people’s memories.
Funny you should mention Byrnes recruits. IMO Chad Diehl, the most underrated one, probably signed by us just because he was Korn’s best friend has been the best one. He is doing well in practice. At every position he is put in, FB, TE and most recently LB. He is a hard hitter and will do well this year for us.

What if . . . what if Willy never starts? It’s like getting fired before your first paycheck. Ouch.
I hope Dabo doesn’t get us into a 2-QB situation. I just don’t see it working with these two.
