Clemson AD threw up an extremely rough version of the 2009/2010 Clemson basketball schedule. It contains lots of phrases like “TBA” and “if/or.” And why do you like us so much? Is because we’ve put up our own, extremely rough and due to change schedule that you can easily access on your cell phones in a jam. No java applets or any techno mumbo jumbo like that. Remember, just click the “Schedules” tab up top underneath our banner and you’ll find it. Here’s the table itself:

For your reading pleasure, here is another scrumptious preview nugget. Enjoy.
October 3 – @ Maryland
Chili - Maryland, returning 9 starters, has also been tabbed by voters to finish last in the division this year. Couldn’t happen to a better group of fans. Tigers win and cover and no I don’t know what the spread would be but damnit I’m going with my gut on this one. RUN ON SENTENCE YEAH.
Willy Mac - This is the one we lose and scratch our head about. We really overlook them and it bites us in the butt. What scares me the most about this game is the potential for the Dabo Swinney slogan factory to go into overdrive if we lose. I’d like to agree with Chili’s instincts (which are usually right with two Mac Cup wins) but I just don’t know about this one. We lose in a painful close one. I’m thinking it resembles the 2006 Maryland game where it was a sloppy, tired game and things went back and forth and they nailed a field goal in the closing seconds to beat us, 13-12.
October 17 – Wake Forest
Willy Mac - Wake Forest, as they have been in recent years, is a good and complete team. They’ve got a few stand outs, but none that get picked up in the major news outlets all that often. I think that they’re a perfect counter to our team on both offense and defense. It’s going to be a low scoring slug fest with us barely pulling it out. This game will ultimately come down to special teams and trick plays so hopefully by this point our kickers aren’t still shitting the bed.
Chili - Riley Skinner is arguably the league’s top QB, and one of those guys that seems like he’s been playing against us forever. He is also protected by the league’s most seasoned offensive line. Our defense should prove a viable counter to their offensive threat, and I think our offense should fare well against their defense, which returns only 4 guys. Tigers win a close one, and the smart bet is on the over.

October 24 – @ Miami
Miami will either turn the corner this year under Randy Shannon or flounder and precipitate the his ousting. The man can most certainly recruit, but can he develop that talent?
Chili - I think Miami will be fairly good this year, and will have made it through and absolutely grueling early season schedule (or early season slate, which seems more sportswriterish, not that I am one) that starts off @FSU, then home against GT, then @Virginia Tech, capped off with a home game against Oklahoma. The Tigers run into the battle-hardened Canes, they of the thousand yard stare, and go home with a loss.
Willy Mac - I agree with Chili here. Miami is getting back on the right track with things. They’re going to be disguised world-beaters by the time they get to us. I think this will be the first game we really get that sinking feeling in our guts. This game will put us at 2-3 in conference and 4-3 overall by my count. The shine for Dabo will be worn off at this point and we’re going to have knee-jerk reactions and angry Clemson fans by the bushel.
October 31 – Coastal Carolina (Homecoming)
Willy Mac - Am I the only one that’s kind of pissed at these Sakerlina wanna-be’s? They’re blacking out in our stadium??? They’re a fucking subdivision team and want to do this kind of crap? Coastal Carolina isn’t even a blip on the radar concerning South Carolina teams. I mean, we’re gonna crush these guys. It’s their funeral so I guess black is fitting! WAKA WAKA! I beat you to it Tigernet!
Chili – While I can’t say I really give two shits about this game, I am pretty eager to see the garish uniform combination promised for this game. Coastal’s head coach, Dave Bennett, has said his team will wear all black, while Dabo reacted to that by assuring us that Clemson would don all orange. SOLID HALLOWEEN SOLID CANDY YEARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Clemson wins by a billion, and some asshole gives out apples and raisins to trick-or-treaters.

According to Coach Oliver Purnell’s Twitter posts today, Trevor Booker underwent an MRI for a possible broken foot today. It turned out to be a “low-grade stress fracture and bone bruise” which still sucks, but of course is better than it could be.

- Dwayne Allen has a new outlook on the rest of his Clemson football career. I don’t see how anyone on the team can be unhappy, especially given the recent Humphries drama. Just be glad that you have a free scholarship to get a great education at a large, respected university.
- Swinney was featured in a puff piece about not looking past MTSU. Let’s be honest though, as soon as we’re two touchdowns up on them the focus shifts to Tech. It will be interesting to see two former Clemson WR coaches duke it out.
- Our special teams, sans field goals and extra points, is doing just fine. Zimmerman is holding the fort down at the punting position.
- A few good players across the ACC were asked (at media days, I’m assuming) a few items on opposing fans, stadiums, towns, etc. Clemson showed up most in the “Best Fans” and “Most Intimidating Stadium” sections a lot. Oh yeah, I got a kick out of Duke DT Vince Oghobaase. Kind of an assholish response but dude is 6’6″, 310 pounds, and is projected as a first rounder in next year’s draft so I guess he’s got some ground to act like that. That or he is just a few pistons short of an engine which I can totally see as he’s a product of the Houston area school system. Anyways, here’s what he said:
MOST INTIMIDATING STADIUM: “Clemson is pretty loud.”
FAVORITE STADIUM: Our own
FAVORITE ACC TOWN: None
BEST FANS: Duke
MOST HOSTILE FANS: Clemson or Virginia Tech
