WP Cumulus Flash tag cloud by Roy Tanck and Luke Morton requires Flash Player 9 or better.

Basketball first…

  • Travis Sawchik jots a few notes on Purnell trying to get a whole 40 minutes from his squad.

“Oliver Purnell is searching for a basketball Holy Grail: A complete 40-minute effort from his Tigers”

Maybe I’m still a little sour after yesterday’s drama, but I think that “holy grail” is an outright poor choice of words. We put together a full 40 minutes less than two weeks ago.  Call it what it is: Purnell just trying to get his team focused for the ACC Tournament, not giving them a crash course in brain surgery.

Kyle Parker/Willy Korn

  • Looks as if the state papers want to remind you that KYLE PARKER PLAYS TWO SPORTS.  TWO OF EM.  FOOTBALLBASEBALL.  BOTH. MASS HYSTERIA. KYLE PARKER.  YERG-A-GERG (Did I just hyphenate a made up word?)
  • Seems that Ms. Dinich has a better beat on Dabo and his quarterbacks than most local beat writers.

Baseball

“Not many teams have the kind of left-handed pitching Clemson has, so if the Tar Heels could pass this test, they have reason to feel good going forward, even if the end wasn’t pretty.”

  • The baseball team beat the shit out of Michigan State yesterday.  Hopefully that trend carries over to today where we face off with them again at the Greenville Drive Stadium in the West End of downtown Greenville at 7pm tonight.  Block-C is getting a few people together at Liberty Taproom (beside the stadium) beforehand if you’re interested.

Baseball did look awesome yesterday. I hate I can’t make it to Greenville due to my first intramural softball game tonight, but I hope we give em hell! The bats have come alive, and I hope it stays that way.

“C.J. Spiller was not extended an at-large bid on Monday. Only 14 entries were accepted in the 60m dash, and all 14 athletes earned automatic spots in the field. Spiller ran a 6.65 last weekend at Virginia Tech, just two hundredths shy of an automatic qualifying time. ”

    you sure CJ is going?

ESPN doesn’t get the day of the week wrong….

I choose to believe it’s Thursday. I’m going to work tomorrow (Friday) and I’ll take two Saturdays.

(I can actually do this, and still have worked 40 hours this week.)
