1. Scrambing out of the pocket too early
2. Scrambling backwards at that
3. Taking the sack instead of throwing the ball away, getting us out of the red zone
4. Locking onto one receiver and not going through his progressions
5. Not throwing past the first down marker on 3rd and 4th downs
6. Sliding like a bitch on 3rd and 4th downs instead of putting his head down and getting the first down
He did it the first game of his career and he did it the last game of his career. He can take his dorky looking ass to the Montreal Argonauts or whatever the fuck CFL team will take him and he better not even show his face in the state of South Carolina again or I’ll make him eat pavement. I know. Our coaching woes are here to stay. I said from the beginning axing Tommy Bowden was only part of the solution. Change has to come from the top and you have to CLEAN HOUSE. If you want a fresh start, get a true fresh start. We went through like 7 coordinators and left the guy at the top…didn’t work. Now we get rid of the guy at the top but keep all of the coordinators? People forget that Dabo was a part of the miserable Bowden era and had some say so in the things that were done…but he pumps us full of warm fuzzy feelings and beats Duke, Virginia, and Sakerlina and all of a sudden he’s Danny fucking Ford. All i’m saying is, don’t be surprised when it’s 3 years later, we still haven’t played in the title game (nevermind won it), still haven’t won 10 games, and Dabo and Terry Don both get fired and we go out and find the head coach we should have found this year.

I was a little pissed but not depressed. Despite all of our issues we were still in it to the end. I’m not ‘all-in’ with Sweeny or this coaching staff though. I still would of rather got a real coach but I guess he is fine. We do need a real OC and DC though. Blackwell did a good job the first half but it was clear he was unable to make adjustments for the second half.

Oh well, I guess I am use to the let downs now.

I thought spence was QB Coach until he was fired. I know Napier is QB coach now, but he can’t undo three years of damage in a few weeks.
Defense was good in the first half and once or twice in the second. Overall a poor performance.

Cullen has been hot and cold, but rarely consistent. Hopefully in 2009 we will get a reliable OC and DC, build a solid OL, get a special teams coach, and finally someone as QB who can throw a nice series of 5-8 yard passes. I can dream.

I wish I had the ability to reach into a TV and fuck up the people on it, like Sammy Curr from “Trick or Treat” did to Ozzy Osbourne’s character, ’cause that’s what I would have done to Cullen Harper in the 4th quarter. Ass-clown.

I’m no Dabo apologist, but Clemson was in this game until the final minutes of the fourth quarter. I can’t remember any Bowden bowl games where we actually had a chance to win and lost the thing at the end. Bowden and Harper were very similar: hot or cold, with cold usually being the rule. Good riddance to both and BRING ON KOOOOORRRNNNN!

The only good thing I can hope for is that Dabo was held back by a lot of the shit that Tommy Bowden created and that he’ll do a complete and utter 180 and put us back to smashmouth football. Whether he does that or becomes another good christian soft ass conservative football coach remains to be seen. One thing though…he better clean house and hire some new coaching for everything from special teams to offensive coordinator. If it’s true that we got Steele than that’s fantastic. I want no parts of a Powell run special teams or a Napier run offense though.

Same old story. We couldn’t run the ball early, abandoned it, and then became one-dimensional and Harper was never the kind of QB who can take over a game and carry us to a W. Our defense played well but too long and eventually wore down. It’s going to be really interesting to see how much our OL can improve for next year, because they are going to have to be a strength next year with all new skill players.

After a loss, usually no one wants to hear from the other side. But here goes, anyhow. You have a young and ‘very fast’ team. Some great talent coming back. Your players and coaches wanted to win this game worse than all you fans. Much worse. The players are young adults doing the best they can. And play they did.

Before, during and after the Gator Bowl…………..Your fans were some of the nicest and classiest fans that I have met. At the game and in the Touchdown Tailgate area, we were greeted by nothing but respect and “Good Luck”. (I know they didn’t always mean it!)This was my first bowl game but I have attended games in other venues where the opposing fans wouldn’t say anything that wasn’t laced with insults and profanity. There were a few calls by the zebras that could have gone one way or another but it was an otherwise great game to attend and your fans were part of the good experience.

Hats off to the fans of the Clemson Tigers!
