What a game last night. Clemson came back from a 15 point deficit to beat the VT Hokies 86-82. We had a live thread going on in our forums about the game. Join up so you can get in on the next game.
RECRUITING
#1 rated recruit RB Bryce Brown of Wichita, Kansas is still considering Clemson. As we reported earlier, he had once seemed like a lost cause, but apparently his good relationship with recent commits Tajh Boyd and Bryce McNeal has given him cause to further consider the Tigers. He will likely wait until after national signing day to make his decision. He has, however, stated that he want to wait and see where the top linemen recruits are going, a fact that could be a stumbling block for Clemson.
Linebacker Eric Fields out of Georgia will not be signing with Clemson this year due to academic reasons.

Upstate Today previews tonight’s Clemson basketball game. The Tigers take on the Virginia Tech Hokies in Blacksburg. Will Vandervort tells us that some of the previous matchups with the Hokies have provided extremely close contests, which of course means that tonight’s game will be a 5 overtime thriller amirite? Each of the six matchups between the Tigers and Hokies since 2004 have been decided by five points or less.
ANOTHER TAKE ON SPILLER
The ACC Basketblog has a wonderful and thoughtful post on CJ Spiller’s decision to stay for his senior year. This is by far the best take on CJ that I have seen from any media outlet; traditional or online.
‘CROOTIN
The State has an article on three remaining Clemson football prospects: Kendall Kelly, WR, Gadsden, AL; Tim Simon, RB, Cordova, AL; and Bryce Brown, RB, of Wichita, KS. I think we could get Kelly. I don’t know much about Tim Simon, and everything I’ve heard has Bryce Brown being an absolute impossibility. Tigernetters fawn over Brown and believe him a possibility because of his relationship with Tajh Boyd and Bryce McNeal. The aforementioned State article also features an astounding video at the bottom of the page where they’ve somehow managed to catch a mudbubble from the Yellowstone mud pots talking and forming coherent sentences. Oh, wait, that’s Gamecock shill and “recruiting expert” Phil Kornblut.
Apparently this is not The State's recruiting guru.

First, JOIN THE FORUMS, DAMMIT.
Heralded QB recruit Tajh Boyd committed to Clemson today and we’re thrilled. See, though, we’re thrilled as in pleased, rational, and generally calm. Not “thrilled” like some of these Tardnetters.
One man knows the awkward fawning to come.
Well, it’s important to be realistic in our expectations for incoming prospects. It is not beneficial to heap comparisons and pressure on these guys’ backs. It’s good that the Clemson fan nation understands this.
At least this guy is on point, no sarcasm intended.
Here’s a couple that are just fucking bizarre.
What? Is this a serious suggestion that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever or is it a brilliant satire of the quick t-shirt printing culture that Tigernet has embodied. Yeah, probably just gobbledygook.
Look, at Clemson I had a better chance of spontaneously sprouting an extra set of arms (GORO TIME MUFUCCCCKS) than I did acing a MTHSC 106 exam, but even I know something’s fishy with this equation.
I can’t even begin to comprehend what in the hell this post is about. Seriously, let us know if you can decipher this. I mean, I get the “HUR HUR OBAMA’S A SECRET MUSLIM” joke at the bottom, but I don’t quite understand the initial post.
Here’s RRTigerGuy, who provided us with heaps of fodder with his horrendous attempts at Photoshops and his cringeworthy ALL IN t-shirt designs. This isn’t really a trainwreck of an attempt at humor as much as it is a guy trying to ghost ride his whip and running it into a telephone pole.
Nobody said they couldn’t recruit, sweety. The questions we had were whether or not it was vital to hire an experienced offensive coordinator after watching the last half of the season.
Eventually the great story of Dabo going from WR coach to head coach is going to have to be dropped. Every coach used to be a lower echelon coach, but we don’t constantly and forever refer to them as such.

The final DSOT comes from PawPrintsII. Just… I mean… what the fuck gets in your head, man? How do you look at a couple Rivals pics and videos of a guy and just up and get a feel for his growth spurt potential? He’s a recruit, not a fucking Chia Pet you creep.
Here’s a couple I gleamed off of the Fightin’ Gamecocks Forum and the Buckeye board.
First of all, several rational Carolina fans have stated the fact that Boyd was not interested in Sakerlina. Not saying it shows any inferiority on their part or anything, he just wasn’t interested. Secondly, the fact that this guy can honestly think that Spurrier still has any credibility when it comes to quarterbacks after the fucking shitshow in Columbia the past couple of years is laughable. Thirdly, to borrow a line in the spirit of jwtiger1 above, our insurance salesman beat your Heisman winning coach.
Here’s, apparently, a Gamecock fan posting on an Ohio State board, making about as much sense as you’d expect him to make.
If there’s one thing Sakerlina fans are experts on, it’s character issues. ZING.
