BOWDEN BOWL TO BE AS AWKWARD AS CHRISTMAS WITH THE INLAWS
Even though it’s no longer a “Bowden Bowl” game and some of the ESPN father/son rivalry schtick is gone, Dabo says he is still prepared to take on Bobby Bowden & Co. come this Saturday as The Sporting News reports. Dabo feels that it’s going to be really awkward now that he’s the head coach going against the former coaches father. It’s said that the Bowden family has shown a lot of support for Dabo during this coaching change, even receiving calls from Terry Bowden and of course there’s always Tommy’s text messages.
TOMMY TO BE A NO SHOW
Tommy Bowden has stated that in a text to the AP that he’s not going to the FSU/Clemson game this weekend. This marks the first time that… yadda, yadda, yadda. How many games has Tommy actually been to since he left? Anyone know? Also, why is the Boston Herald covering this? GTFO MY CLEMMONS INTRAWEBS, YANKEE.
RECRUITS SECOND GUESSING THEIR FIRST DECISION
Roderick McDowell is now thinking about taking the rest of his official visits. At this point, every four star commitment should be taken with a grain of salt. Even J.K. Jay is weighing his options and it seems that UGA is on his mind. These recruits are young kids, but they need to realize that the next coach, be it Dabo or someone else, is going to be one hell of a coach and the program will only get better.
SEMINOLES READY FOR TIGERS
Christian Ponder and Florida State are ready for the Tigers as they look to get back on track after last weeks dramatic, movie script loss to Georgia Tech. The Seminoles have a young offensive line and banged up runningbacks just like we do. This should pan out to be a defensive struggle with the winner being able to control most of the clock. It should be an interesting game, that’s for sure.
HARPER, KORN ONLY GETTING BETTER
Cullen Harper seems to be on the mend, as does Willy Korn. Both are expected to receive significant playing time down in Tallahassee as per the Clemson coaching staff. The million dollar question for this week: Can you fix bad passing or is that just an ailment that we’re going to deal with if the coaches keep putting him in the game?

Too bad Tommy isn’t going to the game this weekend. I was kind of hoping that ESPN would show endless clips of his mother and him sitting in the stands for awkward moments during the game. “Preston Parker just punched the lights out of a Clemson Linebacker, Oh look it’s Mama Bowden not really paying attention to the game” Hahaha.
It’s good to hear that Harper and Korn are on the mend. I’m not ready to hand the reigns to Korn yet, he hasn’t shown good patience in the pocket and doesn’t seem to have the connection with his WR’s yet. However, his scrambling abilites are going to be needed this weekend against the ‘Noles. Tigertown, I hope we’re ready because this game could decide how our coaching search and team go from here on out.
Oh and we all know that we are going to lose a boat load of top recruits. Please, Please, Please don’t make me have to read through that the rest of the season…I beg…

It’d be nice to have a win against FSU in Tally, but I’m not feeling it. However, with a healthy Spiller and Korn and Ford and Kelly and Davis (omg, i’m starting to convince myself by just rattling off the names!) it might be a close one.
I’m liking the fearlessness of Swinney, but when Spiller’s not on the field, the Offense seems pretty bland.
I fully expect a full rape by bobby just to teach us not to fuck with a bowden boy.

I, too, foresee a whoopin’. I would love to be wrong. If Harper could just get his act together . . .

It’ll be close, I think. I’m starting to feel like this game is shaping up like the 2006 FSU game. We’re going to throw the kitchen sink at them and then some to pull this off.

I think our defense can keep this thing close. Ponder has played well but he’s still a young QB and that can lead to costly mistakes, especially against a veteran secondary. If we can get Spiller and Davis making some plays we can pull this thing out. Hopefully Harper and/or Korn can direct the offense without making mistakes.

I’m just not feeling it this week, I’m leaning towards a whipping. Perhaps not a Cocktail Party-style raping, but bad.
