Did you guys bring your mini-liquor bottles for the 4th quarter? I don’t mean to drink, I mean to fling!

I Hate You Tommy Bowden and Terry Don Phillips. You Have Destroyed My Clemson Tigers And Reduced Them To A Punchline For Sissy Sportswriters. I Hope You Both Are Eaten By Killer Ants, You AssClowns!!!!

Thanks for having me, guys. Sorry I wasn’t able to participate more – my connection was very intermittent at the game – couldn’t get it to work consistently. Thanks for hosting, and best of luck the rest of the way. Will Bowden be fired before next weekend?

if no change is made this week, we get absolutely bludgeoned against GT next Sat. right? The players have quit, with most being seniors, they’ll just focus on not getting hurt and getting ready for the draft. if we do get stomped against Tech, they have to fire him after right? I mean it’s perfect timing with the bye week and all.

Well, the season is a wash. Boise looks like the spot to be! Hopefully with a new coach. I cannot fight my pessimism that Clemsons BOT would hire somebody totally wrong for the job who will push academics and prayer over toughness.

Zach, thanks for joining us. I don’t think Bowden is fired before the next game. Just doesn’t seem like our AD’s style to fire midseason. Stranger things have happened, however.

Hell academics can work if you have an intelligent coach who doesn’t burn of all his time outs in the 3rd qtr and can install discipline in his team. Jeez WF has proven that as they are staring their 2nd ACC champuionship square in the face and have beaten us 3 out of the last 5. Last night with a QB from a private Jacksonville school that Furman did not even offer a schloarship to. If Bowden does get his 9th life and stays around this week he damn well better start Korn and give Clemson fans some optimism about the future. Unless Wake losses 3 conference games and we win out (HA HA) this season is already lost. Hopefully the seniors can step up at home against SC in spite of Bowden or the interim coach. The only thing I am glad about last night is that was the nail in a coffin that should have been closed 5 years ago. I truly belive Bobby Johnson is the perfect fit with his playing experience at Clemson, his ties to the area and the fact he has proven he can win close games with inferior talent. While his record at Vandy is not stellar look at the league he is in and his efforts compared to every coach that proceded him back to the 40′s. If he goes on to win 8 or 9 this year hopefully he will still want us. Programs with much more tradition and winning culture over the last 20 years such as Tenn will obviously be open to what appears to be the National Coach of the Year.

The BOT cares about academics, but prayer has nothing to do with it. They didn’t hire Tommy because of his level of faith, that’s just sort of become an issue after the fact. They want good academics, but with the way boosters are up in arms that might not be the primary concern.

Man what a hard fought, smash mouth game where our players gave it their all and had an aggressive, fired up coach on the sideline. Oh, wait, that was 9 years ago. My absolute favorite part was when the commentators said Tommy told Spence that he wasn’t going to gave to media/fan pressure and fire Spence like Tubberville did to Franklin. What a way to motivate a coordinator – “Don’t worry, I won’t fire you no matter what.” Of course, Tubberville told Franklin that the day before he canned him… we can hope…

We’ll wait 2 more years at least before firing TB. That way, all recruits and talent will be gone. Then, whoever we hire will have 4-5 years of rebuilding the shitstorm Bowden has brought on us.

Next year, our starters will have only been on a team that loses. I hope all of our talent jumps ship at the end of this season. There is no reason for them to suffer with us.

  13. 13ChiliNo Gravatar on Oct 10, 2008 at 9:18 am:

I hate the fans who want to burn the whole fucking thing down. Mannnn James Davis should’ve gone pro, mannnnnnnn Spiller should have transferred, mannnnn I hope all our recruits go elsewhere. Shut up. Get some new coaches and see what they can do. No need to throw out the baby with the bathwater, to use an outdated saying.

  14. 14DwightClark87No Gravatar on Oct 10, 2008 at 2:51 pm:

Amen, Chili. Look at what Butch Davis has done at UNC and Evil Saban at ‘Bama. Both of those programs had gone downhill talent-wise (esp. UNC under that idiot Bunting), but both coaches were able to get things headed in the right direction in remarkably short periods of time. Clemson has great talent on both sides of the ball and all we need is a good coach. Not even the right coach, just a good coach. Just not Scott Linehan, please.
