LOCK IT UP

I’ve seen an interesting question posed today after the great failure of 8-30-08, as it shall forever be known (just kidding, our failure encompasses far greater an era than a mere 24 hours), that question being, “Should the 2008 Tigers rub Howard’s Rock next week?”

Interesting.

Frank Howard told his teams not to touch his damned rock unless they were going to give 110%.  Is there any doubt the 2008 Tigers team seems to lack effort? Is rubbing the rock a given? At some point must it be earned by a team? If the past several years’ Clemson teams who shat the bed on numerous occasions touched the rock, shouldn’t the 08 disappointments? Is all this too much drama for a team that did exactly what they’ve always done under Coach Bowden? Who knows. Let us read your take in the comments section.

Who cares? This season is in the toilet just like all the others under Tammy Bowden. We’re playing Citadel for a sure win, then SC state for a sure win, then we’ll be 2-1 man! That’s pretty good! 2-1!!!

    woohoo 2-1!

True. I agree with the rock. But who’s to lock it up? Bowden? I don’t want him making that decision.

yea that is true i think most players fill its a gimme that everybody should rub the rock i say lock it up and the only way they touch it after next week is to blow the fucking citidel off the damn ball.

I think its a great idea to lock up the rock. When Beamer took away VT’s lunchbox they sure stepped up and beat the hell out of us, maybe if we get our guys mad enough we’ll actually play worth a damn.

Lock it up, or find something that’ll make these guys play like men and not small fry pansy asses.

I agree, the team was not ALLOWED to give 100% thanks to evil Bowden and his chin-rubbin’ ways. Bowden should not be allowed to look at Howard’s Rock, much less touch the damn thing. Rather than lock The Rock up, I have a different idea. Here’s my fantasy, one I had today when I realized Bowden will be with us at least two more years. Please bear with me:

Fans chip in money and bribe Brian “More Thugg than Yusef Kelly (thus, the extra “g”)” Dawkins to fly back to the Upstate and, right before the Tigers run down the hill, challenge anyone on the team to try to get past him and touch The Rock. Including Bowden. Then, in my fantasy, Bowden responds to this verbal challenge by doing that hand drill thing, all while not making eye-contact with Dawkins. Dawkins sizes Bowden up, gives him that Wesley Snipes “I’m crazy as fuck” look and flattens Bowden with a flying tackle, punching him in the gut repeatedly on the way down just for fun. Dawkins then becomes Head Coach by the NCAA’s little known “Lex Superiorus” rule of conquest. As Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator (Spence drove Bowden’s getaway car), Dawkins guides the Tigers to all wins the rest of the season, all the way to the ACC Championship Game against VA Tech. Clemson wins and Dawkins cuts off Beamer’s Neck Bubble and uses it as his I-Pod holder. Next is the Orange Bowl versus: Alabama. Clemson wins the game and in the post game interview, Coach Dawkins knocks Kirk Herbstreet unconcious, shaves Kirk’s head and writes “3rd Bass Gas Face ACC Bitch” on Kirk’s head with an orange permanent magic marker. In three columns. The End.

Thank you Willy Mac and Chili for this forum. Bowden is evil and must be defeated.

Holy shit someone just made a 3rd Bass reference. Little known fact, MC Serch later went on to produce Nas’s acclaimed Illmatic album.

Wow….that would be one hell of a statement to the team and the fanbase. I am all for it to see how the team reacts.

Aww man I don’t want to be psycho uncle phil…..how do I edit my avatar!!

Awesome. Thanks for the info about gravatars. Did you get my email about the “Blackout” stuff? Check your spam folders. Hey, did you guys ban TBIAM? I kind of miss that guy…

  12. 12ChiliNo Gravatar on Aug 31, 2008 at 10:39 pm:

he’s not banned over here, i banned him from dfig when he started personally attacking myself and william mac and I guess i was just in a shitty mood at the time. he can come here and yell at us if he wants.

  13. 13Willy MacNo Gravatar on Aug 31, 2008 at 10:40 pm:

I hope TBIAM sneezes real hard and ruptures his septum.

  14. 14ChiliNo Gravatar on Aug 31, 2008 at 10:46 pm:

I hope that TBIAM finds a cure for cancer and immediately dies of influenza. What? It’s too nice to want him to find a cure for cancer? You don’t want cancer cured? You’re an animal, man.

When we beat the citadel everything will be forgiven. The fan base never stays mad long enough. After we lost to Auburn I heard the same talk. When we lost to UK I heard the same talk. We never stay mad long enough to have changes. Too bad we do not have fan bases like Florida or Alabama. When they get pissed there coaches are gone. Then what happens? well UF won a national title with their new coach. And what I saw on Saturday Bama will too soon.

Frank Howard may well pop out of his grave next Saturday just so he can bitchslap Bowden for touching his rock. I say lock it up. If we somehow can make it to the ACCCG, then maybe, MAYBE they will have re-earned the right to rub it once again.

    I’m not holding my breath.

Where do I donate money to the Brian “More Thugg than Yusef Kelly” Dawkins fund? I’ll even throw in an orange sharpie.
3rd Bass Gas Face ACC Bitch!
